Glen Arbor Wedding Photographer

Glen Arbor draws people in because it feels like the rest of the world forgot to find it. The weddings here reflect that. Smaller, quieter, more personal. We photograph them the same way: present without being obvious, close without being in the way.

"The whole day felt completely ours. We never once felt like we were being photographed."

The light here does something different in the afternoon.

Somewhere around 4pm, it drops below the treeline on the west side of Glen Lake and turns everything amber. It is the kind of light that makes the work easy if you know it is coming. That is what fifteen years of shooting in Leelanau County gives you: not just familiarity with the places, but with how those places behave at different hours.

The Mill Glen Arbor is a venue that photographs best when you get outside of it. The building is beautiful, but the real moments tend to happen at the field edge, where the property opens up toward the dunes. Couples who let themselves wander a little after the ceremony always get something better than what was planned.

The Leelanau School has a campus feel that is rare for a wedding venue, with mature trees and long grass paths that hold shade until late afternoon. The Glen Haven Maritime Museum beach is something else entirely: open sky, no crowd in the evening, and Lake Michigan right there. The wind picks up around sunset. Plan the hair accordingly.

Glen Arbor weddings move differently than Traverse City weddings. The guests often know each other. The days tend to be longer and less scheduled. That is not a problem to solve. It is a quality to work with.

How We Work

The process is straightforward. You should not have to think about it on your wedding day.

Talk First

We start with a conversation, not a contract. Tell us about the day, the people, the place. We want to understand what matters to you before we talk about anything else. If it feels like a good fit, we go from there.

Plan Together

We have shot enough weddings in this area to know the light, the venues, and the timing questions that come up. We work through the day with you in advance so nothing is left to figure out at the last minute. Your job on the day is to be present.

Deliver the Work

Within six to eight weeks of your wedding, your gallery is ready. Full resolution files, licensed for personal printing, delivered through a private online gallery. We also walk you through how to get prints made well, because the file is only half of it.

Our Territory

Glen Arbor and the surrounding county

Glen Arbor sits at the center of some of the best wedding country in Michigan. Within twenty minutes you have Glen Lake, the Sleeping Bear shoreline, Empire, The Homestead resort, and the quiet back roads of Leelanau County that most people never find on a wedding weekend.

We know the venues here well. We also know the parking situations, the load-in logistics, and which spots go golden an hour before sunset. That kind of knowledge makes the day easier for everyone.

If you are considering venues in the area and want a starting point, we have put together a guide to Glen Arbor wedding venues that covers the places we have actually worked and what to expect from each of them.
