A Traverse City wedding photographed on the tall ship manitou: Wedding with a hyper local flair

In late August, a local couple tied the knot in a truly unique and intimate setting that showcased the beauty and charm of Traverse City, Michigan. While their day truly began at home with family, their wedding story began aboard the majestic Tall Ship Manitou, a symbol of Northern Michigan's nautical heritage, and concluded with a reception at Hexenbelle, a beloved downtown restaurant.

A Ceremony on the High Seas

The wedding ceremony took place on the Tall Ship Manitou, provided by the Traverse Tall Ship Company. The bride put her final touch up on in the privacy of the ship's beautiful living quarters. Being helped by her closest friends, and mother and father, these times always lend to beautiful quiet family moments. Made all the more unique by the warm woods and brass tools of the old ship.

When the time came, Dad held out his hand, a guidance into another phase of life and a helping hand to the deck.

As the ship sailed under perfect Northern Michigan weather, family and friends gathered to witness the couple's vows. One of the highlights was the participation of the wedding party in hoisting the ship's mast, symbolizing their collective support for the newlyweds. This unique element added a touch of adventure and camaraderie to the ceremony.

The majestic landscape, combined with the serenity of the water, provides a one-of-a-kind perspective of this beloved region. The limited guest list means that each person present will be carefully chosen, making the occasion even more special. Only the closest family and friends can be invited, ensuring an intimate atmosphere where every guest's presence is deeply valued.
