A few years ago I was photographing a senior session on a beach when a woman walked over and offered us her bonfire. She was there by herself. She did not want anything for it. We talked for a while, I took her picture, and I sent it to her afterward as a thank you.
That was McKenzie. Years later she and Kayla booked their wedding with us, and this month I photographed their engagement session in Leland.
I sent that photo because it seemed like the decent thing to do. It sat for years and came back as a wedding on our calendar.
The marina
We started at Leland Marina and walked the docks. They had on matching denim overalls with different colored shirts. They are wildly silly, both of them, and they were up for everything I handed them and then some. They ran the docks and jumped and messed with each other like there was nobody else out there.
Van's Beach
Then we drove down to Van's Beach. They had brought a bottle of US from Mawby, which they popped and sprayed. A good part of my job at a session is reading what people are actually up for. With these two that took about a minute.
They went into the water after that. A half moon was up behind them, low and glowing, not very bright. They almost went all the way in three separate times.
The engagement session is included with both of our wedding packages, and it can be done just about anywhere in Leelanau County. Tell me about the two of you and what you're picturing.
